Ingredients
6g Glycerin
1.5g Xanthan Gum
92g Aloe Vera juice
1g Cosgard
Step 1: Prepare Your Thickener
In a small beaker or bowl, mix the xanthan gum and glycerin together.
Stir well until you get a smooth, lump-free mixture. This step helps prevent clumps when adding the aloe vera juice.
Step 2: Blend the Aloe Vera Base
Slowly pour the aloe vera juice into the xanthan gum and glycerin mixture.
Stir continuously using a mini whisk or stick blender on low speed until fully combined and gel-like.
If it looks too thin at first, let it sit for 10-15 minutes to allow the xanthan gum to hydrate and thicken.
Step 3: Add the Preservative
Once your gel has formed, add Cosgard (0.5%) and mix well to distribute it evenly.
This step is essential to prevent bacteria and mold growth, ensuring your gel stays fresh.
Step 4: Adjust & Bottle Up
If you want a thicker consistency, let the gel sit for another 10 minutes before stirring again.
Transfer your aloe vera gel into a clean, sterilized jar or pump bottle.
Label it with the date and ingredients used.
Watch it step-by-step!
