Calming Patchouli Body Lotion

About the Formula

Hydrate and pamper dry skin with this luxurious DIY body lotion, crafted with rich shea butter for deep nourishment, soothing calendula oil to calm irritation, and moisture-locking glycerin for long-lasting hydration. This simple yet effective lotion will leave your skin feeling soft, smooth, and radiant all day!

Ingredients 

Instructions 

Water Phase

  • 240g Rose Water

  • 12g Glycerine


Oil Phase

  • 60g Shea Butter

  • 60g Calendula oil

  • 24g Emulsifying Wax


Cool Down

  • 4g Preservative Eco (Natural Preservative)

  • 4g Vitamin E Oil (Antioxidant)

  • Patchouli Essential oil

  • Orange Essential oil/Vanilla

  1. Measure Ingredients:

    • In one beaker, measure your water phase ingredients: rose water.

    • In another beaker, measure your oil phase ingredients: shea butter, calendula oil, emulsifying wax, and glycerin.

  2. Melt the Phases:

    • Using a double boiler (or heat-safe glasses over low heat at 60-70°C), melt both the water and oil phases separately until fully liquefied.

  3. Combine:

    • Slowly pour the melted oil phase into the water phase while continuously stirring. Transfer the mixture to a flat surface.

  4. Blend for Emulsion:

    • Use an immersion blender or electric whisk to blend the mixture. As it cools, it will thicken and change to a pale, creamy texture.

  5. Add Cool Down Ingredients:

    • Once the lotion is cool and has reached the desired consistency, add preservative, vitamin E, and essential oils (vanilla and patchouli).

  6. Final Mix:

    • Briefly mix again to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed.

  7. Store:

    • Pour your finished body lotion into an airtight glass pump bottle or container for freshness and easy use.
